VOLUNTEER POSITIONS

Please read over this list of volunteer needs. Participation on the team requires participation at swim events.  Each family needs to volunteer their time for at least two activities.  Sign up for your favorite task here by clicking on the Event listed at the left of the website, and choosing Volunteer.

Fundraising Coordinator (1) ALL SEASON
The fundraising coordinator will plan charity nights at local restaurants, sales, and other social/fundraising activities.

Announcer (1)  HOME MEETS
Keeps up with the sequence and order of events. Uses the megaphone to announce events and general information.

Starter (1) HOME MEETS
Gets to use the starter gun and be in the front of the action!

Deck Managers (2) ALL MEETS
Deck Managers are in charge of the prep area and will line up all swimmers on the deck before their event. They will notify each swimmer to wait in correct order before the race and then send them to the correct lanes.

Timers (6) ALL MEETS
Six timers are needed at a time, one at each lane to record with a stopwatch the time of the swimmer in their lane. Timers are the final check to ensure the right swimmer is in the right event/heat.

Runners (2) HOME MEETS
Run the times over to the computer recorders after each heat.

Computer Recorders (2) HOME MEETS
Times will be recorded on the computer so that ribbon labels can be printed.

Ribbon Workers (2)  ALL MEETS.
The Ribbon worker is responsible for labeling completed ribbons and organizing them for later distribution.

Bull Pen Wranglers (2) ALL MEETS
Manage swimmers in the Bull Pen between their races. Like Deck Managers, Bull Pen Wranglers should be strong natured. Getting swimmers ready to be taken to their events by the Deck Manager is a critical meet function.

Concession Workers (3) HOME MEETS
Concession Workers run the concession stand at home meets. They will help organize the stand, fill orders, handle money, make change, and clean up the stand after the meet. One person from the group will need to be the Coordinator of the concessions team.

Set-Up & Clean-Up (2) HOME MEETS
Set-up - Arrive at pool by 7:30 a.m. to help arrange deck furniture, starting blocks, racing flags, PA system, etc.
Clean-up – Rearrange deck furniture, collect trash, help close concession stand, etc. A great way to get your volunteer duties in and still be able to watch the entire swim meet.

End-of-Season Party Planners (3)
The party planners will schedule a time for the party, order trophies and prepare coaches' gifts. They can use Sign Up Genius to organize donations of food to the party.
